FAQs
General Questions
What is the Ready Card?
The Ready Card is a self-custody crypto debit card that lets you spend USDC anywhere Mastercard is accepted, with 0% FX on Metal and 1% FX on Lite. You keep full control of your assets. No banks, no intermediaries. You can choose between:
- Ready Metal – a premium 16g metal card (available in gold or metal) with rewards and exclusive perks
- Ready Lite – a plastic card with essential features
How do I order it?
You can order your Ready Metal or Lite card directly from the Ready app after completing ID verification. Download Ready.
How does the card work?
It's just like any other debit card, but the currency you spend is USDC. If you do not have enough USDC in your wallet to purchase the item(s) that you want, it will decline.
Do I need to verify my ID?
Yes. You must complete ID verification before receiving the Ready Card. This is necessary to comply with regulations, prevent fraud, and ensure the card works with traditional payment networks like Mastercard.
Privacy note:
- Ready does not process or store your personal data.
- ID verification is handled by Kulipa, a regulated card issuer. They ensure compliance while keeping your personal data private.
- ID verification does not impact self-custody. They're your private keys and your coins.
Is the Ready Card self-custodial?
Yes. Unlike most other crypto cards, Ready never holds or controls your funds. Your crypto stays in your self-custodial wallet until you make a payment. The card simply facilitates spending while you remain in full control of your assets.
What cryptocurrencies can I load onto the card?
Currently, the Ready Card only supports USDC for loading and spending. Additional cryptocurrencies may be added in the future.
How can I fund my account?
You can fund your account in a few easy ways, depending on what works best for you:
- Bank deposits: Send money directly from your bank account to Ready. Your funds are automatically converted to USDC, instantly spendable with your Ready Card. Learn how to fund your account via bank transfer here.
- Buy crypto directly on Ready Mobile: Purchase crypto via Ramp or Banxa using Apple Pay, Google Pay, card payment, or bank transfer.
- Transfer from an exchange or wallet: Bridge assets from exchanges or other wallets to Ready within seconds using Easy Bridging. See how.
- Transfer from another Starknet wallet: Send funds from another Starknet wallet for less than $0.01, instantly.
- Receive a Ready Gift: Claim a crypto gift from an existing Ready user and onboard in minutes.
Fees & Payments
How much does Ready Metal cost?
The Ready Metal card costs 120 USDC for the first year, paid upfront for the first release. In the future, we plan to introduce a monthly payment option.
How much does Ready Lite cost?
Free. You only pay $6.99 shipping if you choose to have a physical card.
How do fees work?
Ready Metal has 0% FX fees. Ready Lite has a 1% FX fee on card transactions. There are no conversion fees or top-up fees. 1 USDC = 1 USD.
- No hidden markups on exchange rates: We use the official Mastercard exchange rate without markups. You can view the current exchange rate using the Mastercard Currency Converter Calculator.
- No crypto-to-fiat conversion fees: Unlike other cards, we charge no hidden spreads when converting crypto to fiat.
- No top-up fees: Your crypto stays in your wallet until you spend it, with no extra charges for moving funds.
How do refunds work?
Once a refund is issued by the merchant, it can take up to 5 days to appear in your spendable balance.
If your refund hasn't arrived after 5 days, please contact us at help@ready.co and we'll assist you.
Where is the Ready Card accepted?
The card can be used globally wherever Mastercard is accepted.
What currencies can I pay in?
You can spend in any currency supported by Mastercard. Your USDC is converted to fiat at the time of purchase using the official Mastercard exchange rate.
Tip: When paying abroad, some merchants may offer to charge you in USD (or your card's currency) instead of the local currency. Always choose to pay in the local currency to avoid hidden fees or poor exchange rates added by the payment terminal provider.
Can I withdraw from ATMs?
Yes, you can withdraw from any ATM that accepts Mastercard.
- Ready Metal members get up to $800/month in fee-free withdrawals.
- Ready Lite pay a 2% fee on all ATM withdrawals.
Please note: some ATM providers may charge additional third-party fees.
What are the ATM withdrawal limits?
- $500 per day
- $2,500 per rolling 30 days
- $30,000 per year
Important: The $2,500 limit is based on a rolling 30-day window, not a calendar month. This means withdrawals made on any given day count against your limit for the next 30 days. For example, if you withdraw $500 on April 15th, you won't have your full $2,500 available again on May 1st — you'll only have $2,000 until April 15th has rolled out of the window on May 15th.
What are the spending limits?
- Maximum single transaction amount: $5,000
- Daily spending limit: $10,000
- 30-day spending limit: $30,000
Spending limits apply to users, not individual cards.
If you're planning a purchase above these limits, please contact our support team in advance. We may be able to temporarily increase your limit on a case-by-case basis.
